“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV). This scripture is my battle cry. No matter what the world may throw at me, I’ve been given a promise on which I can stand. This grants me courage in the face of chaos. However, I have a responsibility to invest my part in this promise.
God is not some cosmic genie that I can call upon when I want something. He is not going to indulge me in my whims and wants. He is there to provide peace, joy, and confidence that he is walking with me. I have to be sensitive to his guidance – to seek out his plan for me.
There will be bad days. Hard times. Confusing situations. These things could and sometimes do bring about doubt and fear. Stop for a moment – are those feelings from God? No! Absolutely not! This is where you must do your part. Recognize what is going on – change the situation – even if it is a change of mind. Decide to trust God – again. Act as if you are a child of the King – because you are in fact!
It seems that everything we do and say comes back to the same simple truth – We have a Choice. We must choose to live like we have a purpose. It will give us strength. It will cause us to stay focused. It will give us hope! I encourage you to live out your purpose today!

If one can have a list of favorites in the Bible, Jeremiah has to be at the top of my list…beautifully shared. Thank you.
