The Man …of My Dreams!

It doesn’t take long to come up with an answer to this prompt. The man that has most positively affected my life is my husband, Steve. We have been best friends since I was sixteen years old. We have been married 45 plus years. It’s nice to have someone in your corner that will always cheer you on and give you confidence.

When we first married in 1980, I was a backward little girl with no confidence in myself at all. I thought that all I was good for was cooking and cleaning. I didn’t get the chance to dream as a child because I helped with my five other siblings. This left little time for young girl daydreaming.

After we were married, Steve encouraged me to put myself out there to see what I was capable of – he awoke in me someone who obviously was wanting to be heard. I started teaching a Sunday school class. I had a speaking part in a play. I joined a singing group in our church. I’d look at myself and be amazed.

Later, we had four boys and the momma in me had the time of my life raising them. Then they grew up and left me. So, it was time to seek the next adventure. I started doing some public speaking, running VBS at our church. Then I owned my own business. Now I’m writing books. None of this would have been possible without my Steve to encourage me all along the way.
