The first thing that comes to my mind is…having a cup of hot coffee. It may not be the sort of daily habit one might think of – but it clears the cobwebs and gives strength for the next thing on the list.
Actually, there is one more important daily habit that I find to improve my quality of life in a very impactful way. As soon as I roll out of bed and my feet hit the ground, I stretch toward the ceiling and say – “Thank you for a New Day” Beginning the day with a thankful spirit pushes away that morning grumpiness and makes way for a world of possibilities. I have noticed that when my attitude is looking for good things – they can be found. Unfortunately, the opposite attitude finder works the same. If I’m grumpy – I will definitely find someone, or something to grow my frustration. So, once again we are faced with a choice. Circumstances can sour our day – no doubt, but we don’t need to stay and waller in your current situation. If you have to – stand straight up with your arms stretched toward the sky and say…”Thank You For A New Day!” I’m pretty sure it will help you feel better. It won’t fix the problem, but it will encourage you to take a deep breath and try again.
