The Oldest Thing…On Me!

The oldest thing I am wearing today is my wedding ring. Marriage is always a work in progress. My husband and I will be married 44 years next Friday. As I look upon my rings, I am amazed at all the life we have lived together. It has been a wonderful journey. There has been the normal ups and downs. We raised four boys and now have five grandchildren. However, at this time, I realize that we are getting old. It’s a very strange this this aging process. Obviously, it happens over time, but it seems we woke up one day with aches in places we forgot we had. Our eyesight has dimmed. Our memory – well I think it is on strike. Yet, through all the years, when I look down on my rings, I feel young and in love. I’m so glad that things can transport you in time and space. My wedding rings might be the oldest thing on me today – but they are forever young in my mind.
