There are some things in life that you can always depend on. The sun rising each morning is exactly one of those things. How reassuring it is for that first beam of light pouring through my bedroom windows inviting me to live another day. The rising sun does not dictate how the weather will be that day, by any means. Rain, heat, or snow are just accompaniments to the sun rising. A new day – new paths to walk.
That methodical surety doesn’t depend on my mood. It doesn’t decide whether or not to shine if I have money in the bank. It does its job regardless of the conditions. Interesting! I think I’m being taught a lesson purely by example. However, I never realized it until today. I must keep on doing my job in every situation. I must be faithful .
We depend on the rising sun for everything. What if, one day I rolled out of bed to complete darkness? Well, at first I’d be confused, because that’s not normal. It would completely throw off my rhythm both mentally and physically. It’s something we take for granted without even thinking about it. I’d wonder through my day (even if it is dark) trying to make things normal. I am a creature of habit and this would just be frustrating because it is far from any normal I know.
What lesson can be taken from the rising sun? Plenty! Faithfulness. Trustworthy. Important. Vital. Life giving. Rhythm. This list of words are more than mere words. They are a description on how one should live their life every day. It really doesn’t matter what your status is in life. It matters that you are consistent.
My encouragement to you today is to be as the rising sun. Always doing your job, whatever comes your way. Be predictable (in a good way). Be an example of faithfulness to all those around you. The things you do, and even the things you fail to do will leave a legacy for other to see. I urge you to be dependable.
