This prompt isn’t as easy to answer as some of the other ones. I guess it’s because I really never pondered a question such as this. I honestly don’t wish for a secret skill or ability. I am quite happy with the abilities I process. I find that wishing for more than what is possible only creates regret or frustration.
I’m not sure it is a secret skill, but it is an ability that I have been given by God. It is the ability to know what people are thinking or feeling. It’s not at all like mind reading or some mystic power. I can feel their feelings (strongly). I see it in their eyes. I hear it in their speech. I understand it in the way they are postured. It is a blessing and a curse. Sometimes, I don’t wish to see, feel, or even know what someone else is going through. However, when you are given an ability – you don’t get to choose how it is used or when – because it just is!
Whether a person has a secret skill or ability isn’t really the question. The question is do you use it to help others along the journey. It’s always most fulfilling when you are using your abilities by doing good for others – instead of building yourself up. Use your gifts to help others.
