What was the best compliment you’ve received?
First, I have to give some background before I can answer this prompt. My dear grandmother was a very religious woman. However, she lived a hard life with my grandfather. They separated, but never divorced. She went on to college to get her degree in teaching. She taught school for nineteen years. When she retired she lived on a very merger amount. However, if anyone would ask her how she was, her reply was always, ” I’m Happy”. This always amazed me; knowing how she lived and what she had been through. How could she be happy?
Saying all of that, my best compliment came during a zoom meeting with eleven other co-workers. One lady said, “LaDonna you are always happy!” This took me by surprise. I felt so blessed. This wasn’t anything I was trying to get someone to say. It was just random. I’m sure it made my grandmother smile.
Compliments are so nice to get, but we have to remember that once a compliment is given, it can easily be taken away by our actions. The other thing that comes to mind is that as much as we might like getting compliments – we must hand them out as well. It’s the boomerang effect; give it out and it will come back to you. Make someone smile today!

I really really loved how you shared back story first…thank you, it really made this read enjoyable to me.
