If I were to compare myself to any animal; I would choose a Swan. They are graceful and beautiful. They are not too fond of the cold and will fly to warmer climates (that part doesn’t fit me, because I love winter). They are territorial. They pick a mate and stick together for life. When you see them floating in a lake or pond – you are drawn to them.
I guess I see me in many of those attributes. I love being a girl and dressing up in my finest. I enjoy feeling lovely. I too am territorial with my family. I would defend my own very loudly and forcefully, if I needed too. I chose my mate nearly 43 years ago – and he will always be mine. I feel blessed to be who I am – people seem to like me – at times I feel like they are drawn to me.
Now, saying all of this kind of makes me feel like I am making myself sound important or beautiful. I’m not saying that – I would never say that, but I do like the grace of a swan. I guess it would be better said, that I strive to be more like the Swan. I’d love to soar with the freedom of flight.
We all can strive to be a better version of ourselves – it just takes a little effort and desire. Grace and beauty – sounds lovely to me.
