That’s a strange title, isn’t it? Well just keep reading, you will eventually get what its all about and your questions will be answered.
We go through life basically absent minded for the most part. We enter the day with coffee brewing, toast filling the air with its aroma, and possibly bacon tantalizing our taste buds. We smell them – sure, but do we appreciate what we are smelling?
A brand new baby has its very own smell. Its sweet and soft, well most of the time. It is a pleasant smell and it makes us smile. At Christmas time, there’s cookies baking or a fresh cut tree that permeates our entire house with its piney essence. This smell invokes that holiday feeling that only happens during this time of year.
Do you sense where this is going? Each and everything we do, say, and feel creates a “smell” as it were – but my question to you is how do you smell?
The way you act or react, your very being emits a fragrance or a stench. This aroma is what attracts or pushes people away from us. For example, this morning while taking my husband to work, I got a whiff of the trees as they are starting their transformation into fall mode. They are starting to basically die and they don’t smell very good. In fact, they stink like moldy leaves. They still look good and are preforming their function as they were created for, but they are not pleasant to be around. Does that sound like you?
Today, take a moment to think about your aroma. Is it sweet? Does it attract or deflect people from getting close? It should be your desire to attract people to you as if you were honey. If you think about your attitude and you realize that it is rather sour and you find yourself lonely. It could be that you just don’t smell good. It could be time to shake off the past and renew your thoughts and actions. Let’s be honest, stinky things are just no fun to be around!
So…How do you smell?
