Proverbs 21:23 (MSG)
“Watch your words and hold your tongue;
you’ll save yourself a lot of grief.”
My heart is so sad. This year has been plagued from every side. Every emotion has been pushed to the limit. This pressure is causing people to say and do things that is not like them. We are pressed on every side, and it was inevitable that an explosion would erupt. However, most of the actions in the past few days will linger in history. Our children has seen and heard how we are reacting to all of this stress.
What will live on in their memories of 2020? An early summer break! Staying home for days on end! Did you take time to talk to them about what was happening? Have you heard your words come out of their mouths? Folks, we are leaving a legacy with each breathe we take- I implore you with my entire being- be careful on how you react to all the mess going on around us. You are training the next generation on how to handle hard times. It’s not easy! I know that, but it’s our opportunity to train our children to do a better job at dealing with uncertainty.
Negativity is so contagious, and it spreads like wildfire. Please help to squash this harmful emotion. Teach those around you a better way to make changes that will actually bring forth the needed changes. We each are responsible for our actions- where are your actions taking you today?
Prayer:
Father God, I’m sure your heart must ache so much more than ours. This is your world that you gave us to love and protect. Currently, we are failing in our job. There is so mush chaos, hatred, and fear. Please help us to stand up strong to see the good in others, to be a positive influencer, and one who leaves a legacy worth remembering.
Thoughtfulness Action:
As you move through your day- intentionality focus on how you are responding to the news, family, your own emotions. How can you tweak them to bring about a more positive outcome? Remember, positivity can be contagious as well!
