Encouragement Day #12

Matthew 5:6

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.”

I am more than delighted to see the trees finally donning their lovely spring attire. The leaves just wave in the breeze as they soak up the sun and the rain. Have you ever taken the time to notice when leaves decide they are in need of some life giving water. They delicately turn their little selves over and bare their tender under side. It’s as if they are saying, “Father, I am thirsty. May I have a drink?” They do not try to handle it on their own or wait till a more convenient time. When they are thirsty – they ask.

Hummm – makes me wonder why we are so stubborn. If God is willing to care and tend lovingly to the trees – how much more would he tend to us – if we but ask. Afterall, we are his children. Would you deny your child a simple drink of water? Obviously, there are certain circumstances when you would deny that drink, but it would be for the child best interest. So it is with God, he is there waiting to provide our needs, if we but ask. Yet, he sees the big picture and knows when to say – no. We once again must trust him. He knows what is best for us – his children.

I encourage you today to stand up strong and straight. Enjoy the Father’s provisions. Let your spirit wave in the breeze of God’s love and care. We are here to show God and all his glory in so many different ways.

Prayer:

Father God, thank you for taking such good care of our nature. When are blessed to look at your handiwork everyday of our lives. Help us to realize that you are there to help us daily – if we ask. Also, thank you for taking care of us even when we fail to ask.

Thoughtfulness Action:

Today, make it a matter of purpose to walk outside. Look up into the sky. Touch a tree if you can and then stand under its shadow. Count your many blessings. God cares for you!
