Encouragement – Day #6

1 Peter 5:7 New International Version (NIV)

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Have you ever been worried? Have you ever stressed? Well, if you are human- then the answer would be a resounding yes! We all fall into this pit from time to time. This is a normal part of life. However, it is not normal or healthy, or profitable for us to reside in the land of worry for an extended stay.

Seems to me, when we allow the veil of worry to over take us – it is tremendously hard to escape. It’s as if we are stuck in cement and unable to move. Our breathing is labored. Seeing good in anything is nearly impossible. Sleep is restless. We are imprisoned in a cell made by our own minds. The fact is, we must trust something – someone stronger than ourselves.

God! He is our only hope to guard our hearts and minds. However, the most endearing truth is that He cares for us. He does not wish anything bad for us, His children. He wants what’s best, good, and perfect for us. Yet, we live in a world with many things fighting against the good.

When you find yourself stressing and worrying about things you can’t change- set a signal. Something that will shake your spirit that says, “Hey, God is in control! Then you can get back to a happier existence.

Prayer:

Father God, there are times when I decide to take the reins. This always causes me stress. I ask you to help me to cast my cares on you. Thank you for caring for me.

Thoughtfulness Action:

Sit quietly for a moment and think of a good signal that you can set for yourself to realize that you are worrying way too much. Worry is a waste of time and rarely does it help you in anyway! Trust the God who cares for you!
