Encouragement – Day #5
Water completely mesmerizes me. It doesn’t really matter what form it may come in- I absolutely love it.
Rain falling – I love the sound. The way it cleans things off is great. It also has a purpose- to give drink to the thirsty earth and replenish the water ways. I love water.
Snow falling- water in frozen form. I love the quite it brings. Peace wonder peace. It also creates great beauty, wherever it lands. It can be the ugliest place, but when covered by snow- it delights. Snow also has a purpose, beyond making my heart sing. It provides water for the earth- preparations for the coming spring when life awakens. I love water.
Babbling brooks- they glisten in the sun as they run merrily on their way. The sound is soothing and brings peace to ones soul. This too has a purpose- a home, nutrition for man and animals, and drink for those who need it. I love water.
Roaring ocean- this water takes my breath away. There is great power and strength in the lapping waves. I could sit for hours just listening to the rhythmic sounds of the waves as they continually come and go. This grand sight renews my soul with joy and peace. This has a purpose as well, home, sustenance , travel and many other things. I love water.
As you can tell, I have shared the positive attributes of water. Unfortunately, there is a flip side to this glorious creation of water. With every type of water there is great power for destruction. Floods, avalanches, tsunamis plus nameless other terrible things. It seems that in every part of our lives there is a flip side. Many times we have no input on how things will turn out. Our only hope to survive the storms that life throws at us is to make a simple choice on how we react to those storms. My question to you is…how are you dealing with your storms? Will you give them the power to crush you? Will you turn your storm on it’s flip side to enjoy it’s beauty? It’s completely up to you!
Psalm 42:1 “As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God.”
Prayer:
Father God, your creation of water brings life in so many ways. However, I can see it’s power as well. I put my trust in you for direction in all areas of my life. I choose to look at my storms through your eyes of love.
Thoughtfulness Action:
Today my dear friends, sit down and think of the power and beauty of water. How has situations in your life made you concentrate on the negative aspects instead of the positive ones. Relief is in your hands!
