Encouragement – Day #3

Jeremiah 29:11 New International Version (NIV)

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

This scripture fills me such confidence, even in a time of complete chaos. Each day the news changes. Sometimes, I’m not sure if we are coming or going. People are trying to take matters into their own hands. This may make them feel like they are in control, but they don’t see the big picture. We need to wait and let things run their course. Then we can resume life – safely. So, let’s not worry about it, because God has it all figured out. We can trust him.

There is nothing more satisfying than when I have cleaned my house – every little thing in it’s own place. The appliances shinning, the frig clean and organized. The floor gleaming in the sun. I have such a feeling of accomplishment. I can sit down with a cup of hot coffee and truly enjoy it. We all can reach that feeling of relaxation and calmness of spirit if we let God be God. We are living in upsetting times, but God has plans – even in the midst of this time. Trust him and relax.

Prayer:

Father God, How wonderful it is to be completely confident in you. As we watch all the things going on in our world it is too easy to worry. Help each one of us to push that worry away with the scriptures you have given us to give us strength.

Thoughtfulness Action:

Get some paper and write down the things that bring you pleasure. Then write down the things that steal that pleasure. Then decide if you can choose to be more happy – instead of letting worry confuse you. God is in control.
