Spiritual Roller Coaster

The day of my new birth was as exciting as stepping foot on the world’s fastest roller coaster.
There were thrills.
Excitement filled my soul.
I knew it was going to be an adventure.
My heart raced.
The things ahead unnerved me a bit.
But I was strapped in the seat…
There was no stopping now!

It has been nearly 30 years since I sat down on this ride.
I have experienced dips and twists.
I’ve gone through dark caves that threw me into bright sunlight.
I’ve been scared…
Apprehensive…
Angry and sad.
I’ve seen the good, the bad, and the ugly.
But I must say it has been an adventure thus far.

I look forward with anticipation to what will come around the next curve.
Will it be a dip…
Maybe a soar through the air…
Whatever it may be…
Of this I am truly confident,
My Savior is in the seat next to me.
He’s holding my hand and speaking softly to me…
“I will never leave you!”
