Katrina

In the summer of 2005 on August 29

life it did change.

She came in with a force

not to be reckoned with.

The winds they did blow,

the waves were higher than an elephants eye.

Her mission, her purpose, her driving force

was destruction.

Nothing left standing in her wake.

A battle field of remnants

of people’s lives out for all to see.

Tragedy and heartbreak

turned to hope –

hope grew into pride and pride emerged as strength.

Rallying of peoples from both far and wide

rebuilt, renewed, restored.

Together anything can be achieved!
