Time

Recently, my husband and I moved into a new apartment. It is modern and classy. I decided to look at all my decorations for the house and realized that I no longer liked the style I had been sporting for over 20 years. I was really into the primitive look. I even had my own shop at one time, selling all these kinds of items. I just loved the feeling they gave me, but I am older now and things have taken on new meanings to me. Let me explain, the decorations I had carried no personal expression of myself. They were just things I had collected over time, randomly picked up cheap or at rummage sales. But when I moved into this nice apartment, I decided I needed to begin fresh and new. I took a step back and looked at our lives – what is important to us as a couple. Let’s display things that have true meaning instead of just stuff.

That’s where time comes in – we are very busy people who are constantly going here and there doing this and that. So the first item we purchased was a very large clock to put over the fireplace. Time is chiefly important. Next, our family is super important and their pictures have a whole wall dedicated to them. Then, my writing takes a good part of my life so over my writing desk is two pictures we found at a rummage sale. They are black and white prints of an old typewriter and the other is a quill and ink. We still have a very large wall in the living room that is completely bare. We are looking for just the right statement for that wall. It will be something about travel or the South or mountains. We just haven’t found it yet.

What do you deem important? Can someone walk through your home and read your personalities or see your priorities? Life is to short to fill it with clutter. Do things on purpose. Just food for thought!
